dear friends of monkeymusics,
the year 2010 has arrived. i don't know if anyone of you has any new years resolution, i have: i want to focus my attention.
unfortunately, this resolution interferes a little with monkeymusics. monkeymusics has been a pleasure, but it's taking
more and more time. time that i need for other important things which i have to do(for the next couple of months).
so what does this mean?
it does not mean that monkeymusics is over. but it means that i won't be able to post new music on a regular basis.
my google analytics tells me, that even though i did not post any new content over the last two weeks, a lot of people
kept coming back to listen to older stuff, and that is awesome and the reason why monkeymusics will stay.
in the future, i will try to post new content as often as possible, and as soon as i got the weight of my shoulders,
i will return to monkeymusics with my fullest attention. until than, you will only here from me every once in a while.
for now, thanks to all of you for checking in on monkeymusics, i wish you all the best for 2010.

i can't believe this song is already ten years old. now i do
remember that i took a while until the album came to me, but
still...time is running my friends. the year 2010 is approaching.
if you don't know this album "white latter" by david gray yet,
go and buy it. if you know it, than sit back and remember.

the flaming lips - yoshimi battles the pink robots

the flaming lips have been around since 1983. their latest
album just came out recently. this song is from 2003 but
it sounds like it's from the future. kind of fits to the
story that is told in the song.

sweet jane - black eyes

today's song is from a band from ireland called "sweet jane".
right now, they are in the process of recording their upcoming
debut album "sugar for my soul" which will be released
in april next year. the song "black eyes" is a little
foretaste, for it will be on that album in a re-recorded version.

ryan adams - everybody knows

although this is a very good live version of the song, personally,
i like the album version better and you should check it somewhere...
it's on the ryan adams' album "easy tiger" and is a little slower with
less "heavy" guitars.
funny story i read somewhere is that some guy on a concert
of ryan shouted: "hey ryan, play summer of 69", and ryan got so pissed,
because this seems to happen quite often to him, that he went off
stage and punshed that guy.
i seriously don't know why, i mean who doesn't like summer of 69?

bon Iver - skinny love

if you haven't heard of bon iver yet, than go and check out
one of the best albums of 2008: for emma, forever ago.
the legend says that justin vernond wrote and recorded
the album on his own in a small remote cabin in
northwestern wisconsin. and it sure sounds like it.

adam green - bunnyranch

bunnyranch is a track taken from adam greens album "friends of mine"
from 2003. it's only 1.35 long, but definitely a nice track.
the album itself is also a really good album, though some of the
lyrics are kind of weird/funny.

patience is exactly what i need right now.
i found this video in high qualitity and had to post it.
their style is just legendary...
it's from their album "lies" from 1988 that was the follow up album
of "appetite for destruction" from 1987. now that's a long time ago.

this is a song from the latest phoenix album: wolfgang amadeus phoenix.
the only thing i can tell you about the title
"lisztomania" is that franz liszt was a composer of classic music, but you will
have to figur out the rest by yourself...
